'Fish River Crafts, Inc.' has been manufacturing fine, wooden marionettes for 37 years at the same location. Our line is small and stable with every one of our 14 styles being a proven seller. There are no duds. All are original designs with copyrights in place. We also produce a marionette kit, an easy way for an unskilled person to create their own marionette character in the style of their choice. Our entire production process is very efficient, beginning with round logs sawn on a homemade bandsaw (though it's quite possible to start with regular, dimension lumber) and with numerous unique jigs and processes in place that keep prices low. Our finishing process is especially sweet, allowing us to apply bright, lustrous colors to the wood with virtually no expense of labor. All the 'painting' of a batch of 300 Bull Moose, for example, is accomplished with a labor investment of no more than 45 minutes of the owner's time (and the greater part of that drinking coffee). We're not sure how other outfits do it, but our system has worked so well, that I've never had the need to find out.
Both original owner's are ready to retire and are therefore selling the business... including all copyrights, machinery, equipment and inventory, both finished and unfinished products as well as 6000 board feet of ready-to-work, pre-sized lumber.
