KBK9 LLC Pipeline Leak Detection Service Company established September 2015 - 2 highly trained dogs (Labradors) used for detecting holes in buried pipelines.
Special Chemicals are pumped into pipeline during the filling of the pipeline for hydro-testing at the rate required to give sufficient chemical (water/chemical calculation) for the dogs to detect.
The dogs are walked within 24 to 36 hours after pressuring up the line being tested depending on depth of bury and soil composition the chemical will surface. If the line is a shallow bury (2-4 ft.) the dogs will be walked within just a few hours of pressure up. The dogs will give an aggressive response of digging where the leak is detected.

The chemicals used are considered hazardous (Flammable class 3). Transportation and dispersing require proper DOT driving license (Hazmat endorsement) and correct PPE.
KBK9 has a 32' gooseneck trailer with 4 certified IBC totes in place for transport of 700-800 gallons of chemical (700 gallons on board currently). Trailer has been DOT certified (March 2016). The trailer has 2 x new 7000 lbs. axles installed June 2016 with receipts. The trailer has 3 spare tires. The trailer has been fitted with 12v pump system capable of pumping chemical at 12 gpm. Spare pump, hoses, tools, 55 gallon fresh water drum, dog creates and PPE is stored in the front half of the trailer.
KBK9 dogs are 2 Black Labrador retrievers' brother and sister 3 years old with complete vet document's and training certificates. These are very high drive dogs with tons of energy! They have never missed a find when being worked with placed practice finds of 3' deep (v
