I'm selling a snack franchise for Cape Cod Chips/Wise Chips/Snyder's Pretzels! The price is $186,550 (which is $9,100 weekly sales times a 20.5 multiple). I cover the territory in Easton and West Bridgewater. I'm looking to sell the Easton half of it. It includes Roche Bros, Shaw's, Big Y, Target, 3 tedeschi's and one other convenient store. It's a very easy, compact route and could be done in 30 hours/week.

It should be about a $40-50k/year job. The route averages $9,100/week in sales. The average commission is 17%, which works out to $1,530/week take home. You will have to have your own truck as well. I have a 20' box truck, you could get away with an 18' or maybe even a 16' if you really had to. So minus the truck payment (say $500/month) you're looking at $1,400/week. Then minus whatever your business loan is (that's done between Snyder's-Lance and the bank), I'd assume $400-500/week so you're looking at just under $1,000 take home weekly.

I've been doing it for 11 years and it's a really good gig. I'm not getting out of the business, I'm just looking to sell half of it and pay off my business loan. You'd probably have 4-5 hours worth of deliveries daily and then have to load your truck 3 days/week. The warehouse opens for loading at 12pm so on the loading days you could start at 7am, so you can time it correctly and get to the warehouse for 12pm.

Loading the truck probably takes an hour and a half so those 3 days of loading would be 7 hour days. The other 2 days you'll have 5 hours or less of work to do. So that's 31 hours right there at roughly $45k/year. You'll have Wednesdays and Sundays off as those are the two days that supermarkets don't receive deliveries.
